Choir tour to Aix-en-Provence as guests of Opus 13

Members of Oakfield Choir and Bath Cantata Group travelled to Aix-en-Provence in southern France to give two concerts with our hosts, the local choir Opus 13. On Saturday 4th October we sang in the Chapelle des Oblats in central Aix and on Sunday 5th the venue was the beautiful Abbey de Silvacane. We sang a short programme of part-songs by British composers ranging from the 16th to the 21st centuries. After the Saturday concert we attended a party featuring a Cabaret Musicale in which members of both choirs entertained us. On both days we were royally looked after, with amzing spreads of food. We all enjoyed a fantastic experience and are so grateful to our hosts, their musical director Marie-Hélène, our accompanist Alan Burgess, and our MD Neil Moore.
